Benchmark Email Review 2026
Benchmark Email's pitch is simple: email marketing without the learning curve. It delivers on that - the question is whether simple is enough once you start paying.
What Benchmark Offers
- Clean drag-and-drop editor with decent templates
- Campaigns, signup forms, basic landing pages
- Marketing automation Lite: drips and autoresponders (paid tiers)
- List management, segmentation basics, A/B testing
- Responsive live chat and onboarding support
Deliberately missing: complex workflow automation, SMS, e-commerce features, CRM, deep integrations.
Pricing and Free Plan
| Plan | Cost | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | ~500 contacts, 3,500 emails/mo, editor + forms |
| Lite | ~$13/mo | Automation Lite, more sends |
| Pro | ~$20+/mo | Deeper features, priority support |
Reasonable entry pricing, but the free plan is smaller than Sender's (2,500 subscribers) or Brevo's (unlimited contacts) - and MailerLite's free tier does more.
Where It Falls Short
Automation: "Marketing Automation Lite" is accurate branding - welcome drips and time-based sequences, but no branching logic, scoring, or behavior triggers. Moosend at ~$9/month does dramatically more.
E-commerce: no product blocks, no cart flows, no revenue tracking - stores should look at Omnisend or GetResponse instead.
Integrations: covers the basics plus Zapier, but the native catalog is thin.
Room to grow: the ceiling is low. Businesses that start here often migrate within a year or two.
Verdict
Choose Benchmark Email if: you're a total beginner, want guided onboarding and real support, and your email program is newsletters + a welcome series.
Choose something else if: automation matters (Moosend, MailerLite), you run a store (Omnisend, GetResponse), or you want a bigger free plan (Sender, Brevo).
It's a competent on-ramp to email marketing - just know you'll probably outgrow it.
